യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഗ്രാന്റ്സ് കമ്മീഷൻ നിയമം, 1956; സെക്ഷൻ 22 

ബിരുദങ്ങൾ നൽകാനോ അനുവദിക്കാനോ ഉള്ള ഇന്ത്യൻ പാർലമെന്റിന്റെ നിയമ സാധുത 

"( I ) ഒരു കേന്ദ്ര നിയമം, പ്രൊവിൻഷ്യൽ ആക്റ്റ് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ സ്റ്റേറ്റ് ആക്റ്റ് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ സെക്ഷൻ 3 പ്രകാരം ഒരു സർവ്വകലാശാലയായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്ന സ്ഥാപനം അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പ്രത്യേകമായി ഒരു സ്ഥാപനം സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയോ സംയോജിപ്പിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു സർവ്വകലാശാലയ്ക്ക് മാത്രമേ ബിരുദങ്ങൾ നൽകാനോ അനുവദിക്കാനോ ഉള്ള അവകാശം വിനിയോഗിക്കാവൂ.

2) Save as provided in sub-Section (1) ഒരു വ്യക്തിയോ അധികാരമോ ഏതെങ്കിലും ബിരുദം നൽകാനോ അനുവദിക്കാനോ അർഹതയുള്ളതായി സ്വയം അല്ലെങ്കിൽ സ്വയം നിലനിർത്താനോ പാടില്ല

 UGC നിയമത്തിന്റെ 23-ാം വകുപ്പ് മുകളിൽ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ സ്ഥാപിതമായ ഒരു സർവ്വകലാശാല ഒഴികെയുള്ള ഒരു സ്ഥാപനവും 'യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി' എന്ന വാക്ക് ഉപയോഗിക്കുവാൻ പാടുള്ളതല്ല 

ഇത്തരത്തിൽ വിരുദ്ധമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന 21 അംഗീകാരമില്ലാത്ത സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ ഇപ്പോൾ മുകളിൽ പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യങ്ങൾ അംഗീകരമില്ലാതെ പിന്തുടരുന്നുണ്ടെന്ന് UGC നോട്ടീസിലൂടെ അറിയിക്കുന്നു നോട്ടീസ് ഇറക്കിയത് 25 ഓഗസ്റ്റ്  2022 .
