Main points of the Objectives Resolution 

1 India is an independent, sovereign, republic; 

2 India shall be a Union of erstwhile British Indian territories, Indian States, and other parts outside British India and Indian States as are willing to be a part of the Union; 

3 Territories forming the Union shall be autonomous units and exercise all powers and functions of the Government and administration, except those assigned to or vested in the Union; 

4 All powers and authority of sovereign and independent India and its constitution shall flow from the people; 

5 All people of India shall be guaranteed and secured social, economic and political justice; equality of status and opportunities and equality before law; and fundamental freedoms - of speech, expression, belief, faith, worship, vocation, association and action - subject to law and public morality; 

6 The minorities, backward and tribal areas, depressed and other backward classes shall be provided adequate safeguards; 

7 The territorial integrity of the Republic and its sovereign rights on land, sea and air shall be maintained according to justice and law of civilized nations;

8 The land would make full and willing contribution to the promotion of world peace and welfare of mankind. 

 ലക്ഷ്യ പ്രമേയത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ആശയങ്ങള്‍

1  ഇന്ത്യ ഒരു സ്വതന്ത്ര, പരമാധികാര റിപ്പബ്ലിക്കാണ്‌.

2 ഇന്ത്യ .ബിട്ടിഷ്‌ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഭൂപ്രദേശങ്ങളുടെയും, ഇന്ത്യയിലെ നാട്ടുരാജ്യങ്ങ ളുടെയും, യുണിയന്റെ ഭാഗമാകാനാഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന .ബിട്ടീഷിന്ത്യയക്ക്‌ പുറത്തു ണ്ടായിരുന്ന മറ്റ്‌ ഭാഗങ്ങളുടെയും ഒരു യൂണിയനായിരിക്കും.

3 യൂണിയനില്‍ നിയോഗിക്കപ്പെട്ടുള്ളതോ നിഷിപ്തമോ ആയ പ്രദേശങ്ങളൊ ഭികെ യൂണിയനെ രൂപീകരിക്കുന്ന മുഴുവന്‍ പ്രദേശങ്ങളും സ്വയംഭരണാധി കരാരമൂള്ള യൂണിറ്റുകളായിരിക്കുകയും ഗവണ്‍മെന്റിന്റെയും ഭരണത്തിന്റെയും എല്ലാ അധികാരങ്ങളും ചുമതലകളും നിര്‍വഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

4 സ്ത്തന്ത്ര പരമാധികാര ഇന്ത്യയുടെയും, ഭരണഘടനയുടെയും എല്ലാ അധി കാരവും ജനങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും ഉത്ഭവിക്കുന്നതാണ്‌.

5 സാമൂഹിക, സാമ്പത്തിക, രാഷ്രീയ നീതി; പദവിയിലും അവസരങ്ങളിലു മുള്ള സമത്വം; നിയമത്തിനു മുമ്പിലെ തുല്യത; സംസാരിക്കുവാനും പ്രകടി പ്ലീക്കുവാനും, വിശ്വസിക്കുവാനും ആരാധന നടത്തുവാനും, തൊഴില്‍ ചെയ്യു വാനും സംഘടിക്കുവാനും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുവാനുമുള്ള മാലിക സ്വാതന്ത്്യങ്ങള്‍ എന്നിവ നിയമത്തിനും പൊതു ധാര്‍മികതയ്ക്കും വിധേയമായി ഇന്ത്യയിലെ എല്ലാ ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഉറപ്പു നല്‍കുകയും സംരക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

6 ന്യൂനപക്ഷങ്ങള്‍, പിന്നോക്ക ഗോത്രവര്‍ഗ്ഗമേഖലകള്‍, അടിച്ചമര്‍ത്തപ്പെട്ടവര്‍, മറ്റ്‌ പിന്നോക്ക വിഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ക്ക്‌ മതിയായ സംരക്ഷണം നല്‍കണം. 

7 റിപ്പബ്ലിക്കിന്റെ ഭു്രദേശപരമായ അഖണ്ഡതയും കര, കടല്‍, ആകാ ശര എന്നിവയുടെ മേല്‍ അതിനുള്ള പരമാധികാര അവകാശങ്ങള്‍ നീതിക്കും നിയമത്തിനും അനുസൃതമായി നിലനിര്‍ത്തണം. 

8 ലോകസമാധനത്തിനും മാനവരാശിയുടെ ക്ഷേമത്തിനും വേണ്ടി ഈ രാഷ്ട്രം പുര്‍ണമായും പരപ്രേരണ കൂടാതെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കും.
