National Digital Educational Architecture (NDEAR)

The National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR) is a federated, unbundled, interoperable, inclusive, accessible, and evolving framework aimed at creating and delivering diverse, relevant, contextual, and innovative solutions that benefit students, teachers, parents, communities, and administrators.

                                   NDEAR Projects

1-Diksha Infrastructure

It is the national infrastructure platform for school education in India, widely used across the country by billions of users in over 35 languages. Diksha has been identified as a Digital Public Good (DPG) by the Government of India and is designed as a set of building blocks in line with the principles outlined in the NDEAR.

2-Vidya Samiksha Kendras - â€˜seeing’

NDEAR Compliant Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) is an institutional set-up that enables the integration and sharing of key stakeholders' data-based decision-making and action for academic and non-academic activities, thereby improving learning outcomes. VSKs are being rolled out at national level and in 9 states.

3-Micro improvements- doing’

Every micro-improvement serves the purpose of making the improvement process easy, simple, and achievable for every teacher and leader in the education system.

4-Registries for schools, teachers, and students

core federated 4th generation registries for accessing school, teacher, and student information (not centrally maintained, but housed within various state/central/departmental systems that are the primary custodians of that data).

5-Energised  textbooks

Energised  textbooks provide students with access to efficient learning experiences by connecting relevant digital learning resources to the textbook. Resources are available for offline and online consumption anytime, anywhere across various consumption interfaces. More than 600 million printed energised textbooks with 12 billion + QR codes linked to relevant and diverse content are in the hands of students across 35 states.

6-Build the capacity of teachers and administrators.

Access to digital courses and training at anytime, anywhere. Several central and state level training programmes like NISHTHA have been launched to train 2.5 million + teachers in 10+ languages so far at 4x speed and 5% cost over offline training.

7-National Quizzes

periodic rollout of quizzes to provide an interactive format for enjoyable learning and encourage healthy competition. Joyful launched many national quizzes like Mathematics, Science, Reading Comprehension, the Constitution of India, Yoga etc.

8-VidyaDaan

A programme to source high quality content in a controlled manner, leading to diversity in content. It allows individuals and institutions to contribute e-learning resources used by students and teachers across the country. 20+ central and state educational organisations have leveraged it and contributed 2 lakh + rich and diverse digital learning content from 11K+ contributors.

9-Periodic Assessments

Five states have digitised periodic physical assessments using Phygital-Saral to identify student learning. Using it, over 1000 million + assessment documents of 27 million + students have been scanned and converted into digital form.

10-Micro learning courses for students

Several states have launched chapter-wise micro-learning courses for students to supplement or revise, with 30K+ learning sessions held and 44 million verifiable credentials issued.

11-Virtual labs for students

Leveraging NDEAR's learning building blocks, virtual labs provide a set of tools and content that provide a visual, interactive, and immersive experience for students and teachers to understand and appreciate important concepts.
